The ultimate distortion

Our new Black Clouds translates a clear vision of what a Lead Tone Machine should be into stark reality.

Aggresive & Articuled, Yet Quiet

Plug, Set, Play!

Black Clouds is aggressive and articulated, yet it is quiet, due in large part to its X-Gate feature. With a unique amp feel, it can produce some amazing chugs. The noise gate works well for chopping breakdowns.

Not another clone, again

Designed from scratch, the Black Clouds features a powerful 3-band EQ, tons of gain on tap, plus a dual boost function for even more gain and volume. Three modes of operation can adapt to virtually any setup.

A plethora of options

Black Clouds features an extensive and thoughtful control set that includes:

Pre Boost: Controls the amount of input boost from 0 to 30dB with a slight mid boost to add definition. Use it if you want to raise the gain and compression when using the boost function. This control is not functional if the pedal is bypassed.

Gain: Controls the gain, ranging from crunch to high gain mayhem.

Level: Controls the output volume.

Master Boost: Sets the amount of output clean boost, from 0 to 20dB. Use it to raise the volume when using the boost function. This control is still functional if the pedal is bypassed and can be used as an independent clean booster.

Pre Tone: Use it to balance the amount of high or bottom end entering the drive circuit and compensate for different pickup characteristics for a consistent tone. Clockwise, the low end is reduced, and the top end is enhanced (for tighter, more aggressive chugs). Counterclockwise, the bottom end is enhanced, and the top end reduced (for fatter, fuller single lines). It’s great for finding the right balance of tightness without losing too much body for your pickups.

Released through

Bass: Controls the low frequencies below 300hz, ± 10dB

Mids: Controls the midrange response, between 300 and 2khz, ±12dB Treble: Controls the high frequencies above 2khz, ±15dB

X-Gate Switch: X-gate is a passive noise gate that chops the silent passages instantly. It’s great for Djenty percussive breakdowns. It also adds crossover distortion, which adds another layer of texture to the tone.

This thing is amazing. It's quiet and super convenient. I love all of the different configurations. Being able to dial in two completely different amp tones and switches effortlessly is awesome. No more bringing multiple amps to gigs for me! It's especially nice to be able to have stereo in and split the amps. For smaller shows, the other guitarist and I can plug in our own pedalboards and each get an independent input straight into FoH.

I've received it a week ago and I'm still blown away by the quality of sound and how tube like it feels and responds! It's really a piece of art and inspires a lot! All 3 amp models are amazing, and it takes pedals really, really well (tried it with TC Rusty Fuzz, Tube Screamer Mini, and a Wampler Triple Wreck) plus a TC Plethora in the loop, and it sounds phenomenal! Build quality is great! The cab sim is really convincing, although you can use the unbalanced out and bypass the internal CAB sim to use your own CAB IRs if you wish, and it delivers great too! Oh, and it's handmade and hand signed!! Which is a nice thing too! All in all, it's a well engineered piece of gear!

I am super happy with this analog pedal sized dual amplifier especially after getting familiar with its functions and the possibilities it offers. This is coming from a guy who proudly owns a Kemper. When it comes to this type of solution I think the playing 'feel' I get from this pedal takes me closer to a real amp. The dynamic range of this thing is amazing. Pedals work fantastic with this device. Be mindful of proper gain staging when using pedals. I am really having fun playing with this thing.

It's incredible the things that little preamp can do: 2 separate channels, a footswitch, integrated reverb, FX loop, MANY MANY controls and the possibility of routing it stereo through balanced XLR outputs straight to my monitor speakers. All in a 20x15 cm box, so it easily fits on my small pedalboard and I can bring it wherever I want. For me, a game-changer!

It is simply amazing how much stuff they managed to cram into this small box. I was spending forever trying to find a nice small amp and loadbox and cabsim to handle it all in a small apartment, but thanks to this marvel of engineering I can sell all of that and just use this alone to get my tones. And thanks to the 3 different pre amp options, 3 different power amp tube options, 3 different cabs and the Resonance and Presence knobs, this thing has tone for DAYS.
