Dynamic Threshold Compressor

Studio grade compresor pedal.
For guitar. For bass. For Vocals. For Studio.

Inspired by studio comp/limiters, but at your feet.

A brand new topology to guarantee both: transparency and low noise

Plug, Set, Play!

The ClearComp is a super transparent compressor with a unique Dynamic Threshold topology engineered and developed by DSM & Humboldt. Most compressors dynamically reduce the gain progressively as the level rises above the threshold.

Our DT Topology dynamically modifies the threshold with a fixed gain reduction, achieving a natural and transparent compression effect with a lower noise floor, less coloring and higher dynamic range.

Watch it while you perform

A multicolor 5-stage LED bargraph is featured to visualize the resulting envelope level in real time.

A full set of controls

The ClearComp feature a full set of controls:

Compression: Controls the input gain of the compressor, hence, the resulting overall compression.

Ratio: Adjusts the gain reduction ratio, from slight compression (1:2) to full limiting (1:20).

Attack: Controls the attack time, from 5ms for snappy slaps to 100ms for a more natural feel.

Release: Adjusts the length of time the gain reduction is applied, from 30ms to 3s.

Blend: Blends the compressed signal with the unaffected input signal. Level: Sets the output level of the compressor.

Threshold switch: 3 position switch that sets the starting point of the dynamic threshold on either HI MID or LOW. depending on the output level of the instrument being connected, select HI for high power pickups or active instruments, MID for regular output guitar and basses, and LOW for low output instruments, like vintage single coils.

 Musicians Worldwide love Clearcomp 1078

This thing is amazing. It's quiet and super convenient. I love all of the different configurations. Being able to dial in two completely different amp tones and switches effortlessly is awesome. No more bringing multiple amps to gigs for me! It's especially nice to be able to have stereo in and split the amps. For smaller shows, the other guitarist and I can plug in our own pedalboards and each get an independent input straight into FoH.

I've received it a week ago and I'm still blown away by the quality of sound and how tube like it feels and responds! It's really a piece of art and inspires a lot! All 3 amp models are amazing, and it takes pedals really, really well (tried it with TC Rusty Fuzz, Tube Screamer Mini, and a Wampler Triple Wreck) plus a TC Plethora in the loop, and it sounds phenomenal! Build quality is great! The cab sim is really convincing, although you can use the unbalanced out and bypass the internal CAB sim to use your own CAB IRs if you wish, and it delivers great too! Oh, and it's handmade and hand signed!! Which is a nice thing too! All in all, it's a well engineered piece of gear!

I am super happy with this analog pedal sized dual amplifier especially after getting familiar with its functions and the possibilities it offers. This is coming from a guy who proudly owns a Kemper. When it comes to this type of solution I think the playing 'feel' I get from this pedal takes me closer to a real amp. The dynamic range of this thing is amazing. Pedals work fantastic with this device. Be mindful of proper gain staging when using pedals. I am really having fun playing with this thing.

It's incredible the things that little preamp can do: 2 separate channels, a footswitch, integrated reverb, FX loop, MANY MANY controls and the possibility of routing it stereo through balanced XLR outputs straight to my monitor speakers. All in a 20x15 cm box, so it easily fits on my small pedalboard and I can bring it wherever I want. For me, a game-changer!

It is simply amazing how much stuff they managed to cram into this small box. I was spending forever trying to find a nice small amp and loadbox and cabsim to handle it all in a small apartment, but thanks to this marvel of engineering I can sell all of that and just use this alone to get my tones. And thanks to the 3 different pre amp options, 3 different power amp tube options, 3 different cabs and the Resonance and Presence knobs, this thing has tone for DAYS.
